How it works

You describe a run — width, height, depth, what goes inside each cabinet — and cabiweb derives the rest: how many door leaves an opening needs, how many hinges a leaf takes, where the joints are, how the parts nest onto sheets, and what all of it costs.

1. Describe the run, not the parts

A run is one straight wall of cabinetry sharing a height and a depth. You add modules to it — a wardrobe, a bank of drawers, a bay with a bench and cabinets over it — and say what is inside each one. Nothing asks you for a panel size.

Each end of the run is one of three things: a scribe filler cut to the wall on site, a finished end panel flush with the door faces, or nothing at all. The top is the same choice, and a top panel can run over the end panels or sit between them.

2. Quantities are derived, not asked

An opening wider than 600mm gets two door leaves, because a single leaf that wide fouls its own swing. A leaf's hinge count comes from its height on the industry table — two to 900mm, then three, four, five. A bench 1200mm long becomes two 600mm base cabinets, because that is as far as a seat can span unsupported. You never enter any of those numbers, and you cannot get them wrong.

3. Your prices, not ours

cabiweb ships sample panel and hardware prices so the app works out of the box. They are placeholders. Add the decors your supplier stocks with the sheet sizes they actually sell — one decor might come only as 2800×2070, another as 2500×1250 and 3050×1250 — and the nester uses each panel's own sizes. Do the same for hinges, slides, feet and connectors.

4. Take it to a saw, or a CNC

The cutlist nests every part of the job onto whole sheets with your kerf and edge trim, and draws each sheet to scale. The manufacturing package goes further: one DXF per part on named layers — hinge cups, shelf-pin rows, back grooves, connector holes — plus a parts CSV with sizes and banding. A nesting shop imports that into their own CAM, nests it their way and machines it. It is geometry, not machine code, which is exactly what a shop wants to receive.

DXF is always in millimetres (INSUNITS 4). The CSV follows whichever units you work in.

What it does not do

It does not draw your room, it does not quote your customer, and it does not pretend to know your supplier's prices. It also does not model drawer-runner drilling yet — that waits for proper research rather than a guess, and the package says so on every drawer part.
